WHAT IS IT?

National Gymnastics Week celebrates the positive benefits of gymnastics in all its forms: trampoline, tumbling, sport acrobatics, sport aerobics, and general, rhythmic, and artistic gymnastics. National Gymnastics Week encourages clubs across the country to promote its activities to the local community.

WHEN IS IT?

Our National Gymnastics Week will run Saturday February 11^th – Sunday February 19^th, 2012. It traditionally is just a weeklong event but we have extended it to include even more fun!

HOW IS GYMNASTICS CANADA CELEBRATING?

They are selling National Gymnastics Week promotional materials! Gymnastics Canada is selling stickers, tattoos, “I Love Gym” glow in the dark silicone bracelets and zipper pulls. Fill out this ORDER FORM and submit it to our office. Orders are due by Thursday January 26th, 2012.

They are organizing a Gym Revolution Video Challenge. We want to see a video of you and your friends telling us your gymnastics story and why you LOVE Gymnastics! Entries will be submitted to YouTube and viewers will vote during National Gymnastics Week. The video with the most “likes” wins! HOW ARE WE CELEBRATING?

At our club we will be celebrating with a few events:

ALL WEEK - We Love Gymnastics Colouring Contest

We will be having a colouring contest running January 30^th – February 12^th, 2012. Participants aged 3 – 12 are encouraged to grab a colouring page from the office. Once completed, hand it in the office. Three winners will be selected and awarded “I Love Gymnastics” prizes. All of the entries will be posted in the hallway.

Sat Feb 11th - Gymnastics Hour! Open House

An opportunity for community members to sign up and try gymnastics for free!

3-5 years: 5:30–6:30 pm

6-10 years: 6:30–7:30 pm

You must sign up in the office beforehand! Registration is open until Feb 8^th. Please contact the office to sign up!

Wed Feb 15th - Gymnastics Demonstration

A few of our competitive athletes will be demonstrating their floor routines at 5:45 pm and 7:30 pm.

Fri Feb 17th - P.A. Day Camp - The Magic of Gymnastics

Fun filled day of camp showcasing how magical gymnastics can be!

Full day: $38   Half day: $24

Sat Feb 18th - Gymnastics Demonstration

A few of our competitive athletes will be demonstrating their floor routines at 12:00 pm.

Sat Feb 18th - “Are you STRONGER than a COMPETITIVE GYMNAST” Challenge

We are inviting members of a local hockey organization to come out and compete against our gymnasts! Let’s see who is stronger! Come out and cheer them on!

Sun Feb 19th - "Spread the Word” Celebrity Server

Enthusiastic gymnasts will help out at Boston Pizza Ajax. We will hand out gymnastics stickers and tattoos! Come by for dinner and help us raise some money!
